Getting a good design is not done with just a click of the fingers. The ability to see and communicate colors is the critical aspects needed in order to produce printing that will look and appear professional. In the competitive printing industry, this is the factor that differentiates the contented client from the disappointed one.

Screen printing is one of the extensions of the artistic side of designers and color is something that they understand and want to convey in that way. How does one communicate color with the artist and the clients?

Understanding color is more important when it is evaluated than when it is done without a formula or a system. If the color you want falls between or out of the color samples, you do not have to grieve. There are ways to make them work to your advantage without having to rely on only one system.

Approach the colors systematically. The most genius of brains does not accurately remember the exact hues that it sees. The tones may be remembered but without something to compare it to, matching it would be an impossible task to do. Even if you try professional color matchers. Chances are, they would find you a match but not really the exact one that you have in mind.

There are now many color models that guides people into describing the kind of color that they see. The kind of values and tones represented may vary and may even appear the opposite as the other models that are mainly due to the perception of the person doing the model.

If the color you want does not match nay of the models available already, the best thing to do is make your own method of matching colors. The most common color backbone used is white in the bottom and black at the top. But there is now a system that reverses the process with black at the bottom and white at the top.

Whichever color method being used, it is important that the desired color you wanted is achieved in the end. The process of matching color does not necessarily mean that there are only certain ways of doing it. There a variety of ways you can go about having the color you wanted in print.

You can even come up with a color matching method of you own. Might work too and become something that everyone will be using.
